I’m Ralphin’ It of the Day: A Philadelphia McDonald’s has come under fire for allegedly selling sandwiches on buns that have come into contact with mice and their droppings.
According to former employee Karruim Demaio, managers at the West Oak Lane restaurant would regularly order their subordinates to remove rodent droppings from buns and serve them.
Demaio caught one of the mice incidents on camera and send the footage to the local Fox affiliate. “That wasn’t the first time,” he said. “That was about the sixth or seventh time. That’s what made me like, I got to get video of this.”
Having been employed at the branch from October of 2010 until very recently, Demaio told Fox 29 that “there hasn’t been a time when we couldn’t go in the back and see mouse droppings on the bread.”
Franchise owner Ken Youngblood told the station in a statement that he takes the matter seriously and will investigate the claims. His establishment was previously admonished by the Philadelphia Health Department for allowing “unacceptable public health or food safety conditions.”

This is so disgusting. Los Angeles County’s method of publicly disclosing health and safety ratings should be expanded nationwide.
