Happy birthday, Michelle Zhu!
Today, Irene and I took Michelle out for her birthday to see her favorite musical, Avenue Q. Literally over one year ago, Michelle and I were studying for APUSH (and looking up musicals) and found that Avenue Q would be in LA for one week, coincidentally the week of her 18th birthday. It worked out perfectly!

Irene, Michelle, and I have this sort of birthday tradition thing going where the three of us hang out to celebrate each other’s birthdays. I love it and hope it will continue through college, and maybe even beyond :D
Hollywood is beautiful. Today was the first day I really walked around Hollywood in the evening (walking to this quaint Italian place for dinner) Everything is lit up and so vibrant and busy!

We ate dinner at this Italian cafe named Fabiolus. It was about two blocks from Pantages where Avenue Q was playing. We ended up getting rush tickets for $30 each in the orchestra section (row ZZ though, but still orchestra for $30!!)

I really enjoyed the musical. I love musicals in general, but Avenue Q had a very unique style of humor and integrated drama (to some extent) that I really did end up liking. The use of puppets and dominance of humor throughout of the play was also unique and a good change from the usual drama :P

It was a fun adventure out of the realm of San Gabriel Valley to see a Broadway musical. Great night! Back to my homework…..happy birthday, Michelle!
